Lisa Allen, the popular midday personality on Hubbard Radio hot adult-contemporary WTMX 101.9-FM, is the latest to join the podcast parade. Since July Allen has been hosting “Non-Stop with Lisa and Jerry,” co-hosted by Jerry Nunn, a writer and photographer from Windy City Times. Together they interview celebrities, recap concerts and events, and share backstage stories about the Chicago and suburban hot spots they visit. (The latest episode recounts their exploits at Lollapalooza.) “We’ve had a great response so far and we’re just getting started,” Allen said. With new shows added every other week, "Non-Stop” can be accessed on The Mix website, The Mix app, iTunes and other podcast platforms. Hubbard Radio has an ownership stake in the PodcastOne podcasting network.

Sam Panayotovich, former sports anchor and reporter at Tribune Broadcasting WGN AM 720, is about to be heard again on Chicago radio. Every Friday during football season, he'll turn up at 6:30 a.m. on Mike Mulligan and David Haugh's morning show on Entercom sports/talk WSCR 670-AM. Since February, Panayotovich has been a host for VSiN (Vegas Stats & Information Network), the Las Vegas-based source for sports gambling information. "Following the betting markets really changes the way you watch sports," he said. "I can’t wait to go back home for 12 minutes every Friday."

Two Chicago radio hosts are teaming up for what they're billing as a series of "uncomfortable conversations" about race. Joe Walsh of Salem Media news/talk WIND 560-AM and Maze Jackson of Midway Broadcasting urban news/talk WVON 1690-AM will appear together in four public forums next month. “Black and White, Uncomfortable Conversations” will examine taxes, gun violence, reparations, religion, family structure, education and other issues from their unique perspectives. The events will be September 8 in Bolingbrook, September 15 in Wauconda, September 22 on Chicago's South Side, and September 29 in Lake Forest.
Rafer Weigel and Kathy Browne
Happy to report the engagement of Rafer Weigel, weekend news anchor at Fox-owned WFLD-Channel 32, to Kathy Browne, an international flight attendant, actress and author of My Emerald City: When Growing Up Grunge Is a Killer. They’re planning a March wedding. Weigel is the son of the late sports anchor Tim Weigel and the brother of Jenniffer Weigel, the Chicago journalist, author and broadcaster.
