The impending departure of Cheryl Scott as weekend meteorologist at WMAQ-Channel 5 is just the latest in a string of defections from the NBC-owned station since 2011.
At least six popular personalities have signed off from NBC 5 in recent years (although one has since returned). In most cases, they left for network opportunities.
