Chicago magazine, long the arbiter of taste and style for its namesake, is about to lose its tony Mag Mile address and move out of Tribune Tower.

Chicago Tribune Media Group, parent company of the monthly publication and website, confirmed Wednesday that all employees of the magazine will be relocated to Chicago Tribune’s Freedom Center printing and distribution complex at 777 West Chicago Avenue.

The move, which is expected to be completed by early February, will mark the end of Chicago’s 12-year presence at Tribune Tower, the 36-story Gothic landmark at 435 North Michigan Avenue. Before its acquisition by Tribune, Chicago magazine occupied offices at 500 North Dearborn Street.

Previously moved to offices at Freedom Center were suburban editorial and information technology personnel.

Both Tribune Tower and Freedom Center are owned by Tribune Media, which is a separate company from Tribune Publishing, owner of Chicago Tribune Media Group. The two entities were split in 2014 following a four-year bankruptcy and reorganization.
