Broadcast museum offers ‘fantasy interview’ with Larry King

If you’ve ever dreamed of being interviewed by Larry King, now your fantasy can be fulfilled.

Just in time for the holidays, Chicago's Museum of Broadcast Communications has begun offering visitors the chance to tape a virtual interview with King in which his questions are edited with their answers into a seamless conversation.

“It is a perfect gift for a young person to give to their parent, grandparents or anyone who has an interesting life story to share,” said Bruce DuMont, president of the museum at 360 North State Street. Price for the "Larry King Fantasy Interview Experience" is $24.95.

In the course of the on-camera taping, King asks 40 questions about the subject’s life. The final product includes reaction shots from King, which are edited in with the answers.

In a sample I saw, King asks about where and when you were born, your childhood hero, your favorite sports team, your favorite vacation, and what you liked to do as a kid, as well as “What was your biggest fear growing up?” and “What’s the silliest thing you’ve ever done?”

Gift certificates are available for the “Larry King Fantasy Interview Experience.” Reservations are required to schedule an interview. Email studio@museum.tv or call (312) 245-8200.

King, 81, a longtime supporter of the museum who was honored in a special salute in 1996, most recently was featured at “An Evening with Larry King” last September.
