Natalie Perez, a news anchor and reporter for the Univision Spanish-language station in Tampa Bay, Florida, has been hired as a general assignment reporter at Univision-owned WGBO-Channel 66 here.
She’ll start on the air next week, according to Teri Arvesu, news director of Univision Chicago.
Born in Brooklyn, New York, Perez moved with her family to Puerto Rico as an infant. After graduating from University of the Sacred Heart with a degree in journalism, she began as a reporter in San Juan. Since 2010, Perez has worked for Univision’s WVEA-TV in Tampa Bay, where she anchored at 6 p.m. weekdays.
“Feliz de estar en mi nueva casa @unichicago,” she tweeted. (“Happy to be in my new home at Univision Chicago.”)
