Throughout the season he\u2019ll also call in on Fridays and Mondays to Pete McMurray and Dan McNeil\u2019s morning show on The Drive.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>\u201cTiming for this show just feels right,\u201d said Greg Solk, senior vice president of programming for Hubbard Radio. \u201cAll the football experts are predicting a rough year for our beloved Bears, so fans will want and need a place to sound off after the games. As The Drive continues our evolution into more of a Chicago lifestyle station, this is the perfect chance for us to experiment and bring in a superstar like Mike North. Mike is truly authentic \u2014 and he\u2019s all Chicago.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s the latest addition to the postgame program competition since the demise of Ed O\u2019Bradovich and Doug Buffone\u2019s celebrated show on CBS Radio sports\/talk <a href=\"http:\/\/chicago.cbslocal.com\/station\/670-the-score\/\" target=\"_blank\">WSCR AM 670:<\/a><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>After Buffone died in April, O\u2019Bradovich joined Tribune Media news\/talk <a href=\"http:\/\/wgnradio.com\" target=\"_blank\">WGN AM 720,<\/a>\u00a0where he\u2019ll\u00a0host a postgame show with Dan Hampton and Glen Kozlowski.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>The Score this week<a href=\"http:\/\/www.robertfeder.com\/2015\/08\/19\/score-taps-kreutz-williams-for-bears-postgame-show\/\" target=\"_blank\"> announced<\/a> Olin Kreutz, James \u201cBig Cat\u201d Williams and Hub Arkush as hosts of its new postgame show.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>CBS Radio all-news combo\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/chicago.cbslocal.com\/station\/wbbm-newsradio-780-and-1059fm\/\" target=\"_blank\">WBBM AM 780 and WCFS FM 105.9,<\/a> home of Bears play-by-play, follows its broadcasts with locker room interviews with head coach John Fox and players. Then former Jay Hilgenberg and Jim Schwantz join Ron Gleason taking calls.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>ESPN sports\/talk <a href=\"http:\/\/espn.go.com\/chicago\/radio\/\" target=\"_blank\">WMVP AM 1000<\/a> features Steve \"Mongo\" McMichael, Jeff Dickerson, Fred Huebner and Ben Finfer after each game.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>With listener loyalties and advertiser dollars up for grabs, North offers an unpredictable alternative among the crowd of Sunday afternoon talkers.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m sort of like almost like Trump in this equation now,\u201d North said, comparing himself to wild card Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump. \u201cThe loudmouth is coming in. I think things are going to change a lot.\"<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_8593\" style=\"width: 150px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/Dan-McNeil.jpg\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-8593\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-thumbnail wp-image-8593\" alt=\"Dan McNeil\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/Dan-McNeil-140x150.jpg\" width=\"140\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-8593\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Dan McNeil<\/p><\/div>\n<p>The addition of a sports talk show on an unadulterated FM music station would have seemed unlikely until last March when The Drive<a href=\"http:\/\/www.robertfeder.com\/2015\/03\/06\/the-drive-revs-up-for-mcmornings-debut\/\" target=\"_blank\"> hired <\/a>McNeil to co-host its new morning show with McMurray. Given McNeil\u2019s 30 years in sports radio, his presence has redefined the station and its appeal to men between 25 and 54 (where the show currently ranks third in the market).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ve known Danny since 1992, and it warms my heart so see that we\u2019re going to be back together again,\u201d said North, who worked with McNeil at The Score and was its biggest star for 16 years until 2008. \u201cHopefully there will be many more things to come. But I\u2019m very happy with my situation. I\u2019m thrilled that I\u2019ve landed at a reputable place with the arrow pointing up.\u00a0I am absolutely ecstatic about this.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>There are no plans to team him with McNeil, but North isn\u2019t ruling it out: \u201cI\u2019m going to try my best to talk him into doing some shows with me if he can.
