He spent 15 years before that as a reporter and noon news anchor at Fox-owned<a href=\"http:\/\/www.fox32chicago.com\" target=\"_blank\"> WFLD-Channel 32.<!--more--><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Jennifer Lyons, news director of WGN, made Elwood\u2019s appointment official Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs a native Chicagoan, Patrick<em> is<\/em> one of Chicago\u2019s Very Own,\u201d she wrote in a memo.\u00a0\u201cHe is hard working and dedicated to telling the stories of Chicago. You feel it in each report he gives. Patrick is tireless in the field and generous with his free time when it comes charitable organizations \u2014 especially the St. Baldrick\u2019s Foundation.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A fourth-generation South Side Chicagoan and University of Texas graduate, Elwood joined Fox 32 in 1999 from WTMJ-TV in Milwaukee.
