It didn’t take long for iHeartMedia to fill the afternoon vacancy on Top 40 WKSC FM 103.5.

On Monday the station promoted evening personality Brady Broski to afternoon drive host and assistant program director of Kiss FM. Brady, as he’s known on the air, has been filling in from 2 to 6 p.m. weekdays since Ryan “Jordan” Gorman was dropped last week.

"Brady is a master at connecting with listeners on air, socially, and at events,” Tommy Austin, senior vice president of programming for iHeartMedia Chicago, said in announcing the move. “As a member of our staff for two years, his behind the scenes contributions have been and will continue to be a huge asset to the Kiss [FM] brand.”

No reason was cited for the change, but Austin’s statement underscored the increasing importance iHeartMedia Chicago bosses place on having their air personalities promote their brands through social media and engage in audience interaction.

Brady joined Kiss FM as evening host and music director in November 2013 from WKSS in Hartford, Connecticut, where he was morning co-host and assistant program director. He previously worked at three other stations in Connecticut — WKCI in New Haven, WDAQ in Danbury and WILI in Willimantic.

"I'm beyond excited to take this proud city home every day with a super fun, and interactive show,” Brady said in a statement Monday.

Until a permanent evening host is named to succeed Brady, various personalities will fill in from 6 to 11 p.m., according to a spokeswoman for iHeartMedia Chicago.

In the latest Nielsen Audio survey, afternoons on Kiss FM ranked third with a 4.6 percent share and cumulative weekly audience of 1,128,600. Among listeners between 18 and 34, afternoons on Kiss FM finished second with a 7.0 share and 398,200 cume, trailing CBS Radio competitor WBBM FM 96.3, which led the market with a 7.2 share and 414,400 cume.
