<\/a> Jack Diamond<\/p><\/div>\n

Without fanfare Jack Diamond returned as morning host on WLS FM 94.7 <\/a>Monday after nearly fours month off on medical leave.<\/p>\n

Diamond, 60, was last heard<\/a> on the Cumulus Media classic hits station in late December when he returned home to Washington, D.C., for treatment of diverticulitis. He underwent surgery January 20 and has been recuperating since.<\/p>\n

\u201cJack rejoined us this morning and we welcome him back,\u201d said Jan Jeffries, senior vice president of corporate programming for Cumulus Media and program director of WLS FM.<\/p>\n

Through it all Brant Miller has hosted the show from 5:30 to 9 a.m. Monday through Friday, with Marti Jones as news and traffic anchor. Both are expected to remain with the show.<\/p>\n

Cumulus Media first tried to hire Diamond after a weeklong on-air audition on WLS FM last July, but he turned down the offer to accept a job in San Diego \u2014 a gig that lasted barely two weeks before he called it quits. The company reinstated the offer and Diamond officially joined WLS FM in November.<\/p>\n

Diamond, whose real name is Harvey Joel Fischer, was born in the Washington area and spent most of his career there, including 24 years on WRQX.<\/p>\n

In the latest Nielsen Audio survey, WLS FM tied for 12th in mornings with a 2.8 percent share and cumulative weekly audience of 399,300.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
