Veteran network and local news executive Bart Feder (no relation) has been named senior vice president of news for Tribune Broadcasting, <\/a>overseeing news operations at the Chicago-based company\u2019s 42 television stations nationwide.<\/p>\n

Feder succeeds Katherine Green, who quit <\/a>last December after just after seven months, citing the \u201cseemingly endless wheel of travel\u201d the job entailed. His appointment, announced Wednesday, is effective March 2.<\/p>\n

Like Green, Feder worked for\u00a0CNN, <\/a>where he spent five years as senior vice president of current programming until May 2013. He left after Jeff Zucker took over as president of CNN Worldwide. Also exiting around that time was Christa Robinson, senior vice president of communications, who subsequently joined Tribune Media <\/a>as chief communications officer.<\/p>\n

Feder previously headed local news operations at WABC-TV in New York, WHDH-TV in Boston, WJXT-TV in Jacksonville, Florida, and KOVR-TV in Sacramento, California. He also served as chairman and CEO of The FeedRoom, a pioneering online video, live streaming and digital asset management company.<\/p>\n
