News director Jennifer Graves confirmed his hiring for the Saturday morning position.\u00a0<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>\"Was a great first day at @ABC7Chicago!\"<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/TroyABC7\" target=\"_blank\">\u00a0Christensen tweeted.<\/a> \"Special thanks to @StaceyBacaABC7, @SchwarzABC7, everyone behind the scenes, and everyone watching!\"<\/p>\n<p>Meteorologist Phil Schwarz introduced Christensen to television weather forecasting during a summer internship at ABC 7 in 2006. The Naperville native went on to study meteorology at the University of Oklahoma, where he earned a bachelor's degree.<\/p>\n<p>After two years at KLBK-TV, the CBS affiliate in Lubbock, Texas, he joined KFOR in 2010.
