Chicago radio listeners drove WLIT FM 93.9<\/a> to No. 1 in afternoons, according to the latest Nielsen Audio survey.<\/p>\n

Airing Christmas music in place of its adult contemporary fare, the iHeartMedia station doubled its afternoon audience share, boosting its cumulative weekly audience from 829,900 the previous month to 1,162,900 for Mick Lee\u2019s show from 3 to 7 p.m. weekdays.<\/p>\n

As reported earlier <\/a>Monday, 93.9 MyFM also led the ratings overall for the period from November 6 to December 3. It flipped to \u201cChicago\u2019s Christmas Station\u201d on November 14.<\/p>\n

Doug Banks, Chicago\u2019s perennial afternoon leader on iHeartMedia urban adult-contemporary WVAZ FM 102.7, <\/a>finished second in the latest survey.<\/p>\n

For Steve Dahl\u2019s first full month on WLS AM 890,<\/a> the Cumulus Media news\/talk station remained tied for 27th place in afternoons with a 1.0 share and 179,900 cume. The final month of afternoon duo Roe Conn and Richard Roeper had a 1.1 share and 176,400 cume.<\/p>\n

In another closely watched segment, Bill Leff and Wendy Snyder fell to 20th in afternoons on Tribune Media news\/talk WGN AM 720 <\/a>with a 2.1 share and 255,700 cume. The previous month they tied for 15th with a 2.5 share and 267,400 cume. Last fall, Garry Meier on WGN tied for ninth with a 3.6 share and 322,200 cume.<\/p>\n

Here\u2019s a look at Chicago\u2019s top 10 afternoon shows as measured by Nielsen Audio among all listeners age 6 and older from 3 to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday, followed by average share of audience (with previous month\u2019s share in parentheses).<\/p>\n
