<\/a> Peter van de Graaff<\/p><\/div>\n

Peter van de Graaff, chief announcer at WFMT FM 98.7,<\/a> is filling in as morning personality at the classical music station for the foreseeable future while Carl Grapentine recuperates from quadriceps tendon surgery<\/a> on both legs.<\/p>\n

Van de Graaff, who doubles as host of the Beethoven Satellite Network overnight music service, is now being heard nine hours a day \u2014 on his \u201cThrough the Night\u201d program from midnight to 6 a.m. and filling in for Grapentine from 6 to 9 a.m. Monday through Friday.<\/p>\n

Midday host Lisa Flynn, who\u2019s normally on from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., is starting her show an hour earlier at 9 a.m. while Grapentine is out.<\/p>\n

Since his surgery November 17, Grapentine has been in ankle-to-thigh casts on both legs. It\u2019ll be another six weeks before the casts are removed and he can begin rehab, according to a post on his Facebook <\/a>page.<\/p>\n

No word on when he will return to WFMT.<\/p>\n

\u201cCarl is recuperating nicely, is in good spirits, and wants to thank everyone for their good wishes,\u201d a spokeswoman for the Window to the World Communications station said Monday.<\/p>\n

Except for a six-year stint at the former WNIB, Grapentine has hosted mornings on WFMT since 1986. The Michigan native doubles as stadium voice for the University of Michigan Wolverines. Last Saturday was the first Michigan-Ohio State game he\u2019d missed since 1968.<\/p>\n

In the latest Nielsen Audio survey, WFMT tied for 29th in mornings with a 1.1 percent share and cumulative weekly audience of 134,600.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
