After two years on the early morning anchor desk, he was <a href=\"http:\/\/www.robertfeder.com\/2013\/08\/22\/wgn-promotes-dan-ponce-to-morning-news-anchor\/\" target=\"_blank\">replaced<\/a> by Dan Ponce and shifted to afternoon and evening reporting duties.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI loved waking up with Chicago in the beginning and I love bringing the news to you at night now,\u201d Holland wrote on his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/frankwgn?fref=ts\" target=\"_blank\">Facebook<\/a> page Friday, his last day at WGN. \u201cI will always remember all the great people I met here, the great experiences and special moments.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Philadelphia native and University of Pittsburgh graduate previously worked at WDIV-TV, the NBC affiliate in Detroit.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>His anchor ambitions thwarted in Chicago, Frank Holland is moving on to Boston.
