Comcast SportsNet Chicago<\/a> will air a live, three-hour simulcast of David Kaplan and David Haugh\u2019s midday show on Tribune Broadcasting sports\/talk WGWG LP 87.7,<\/a> starting July 21.<\/p>\n

From cameras in their Tribune Tower radio studio, \u201cKap & Haugh\u201d<\/a> will be seen from 9 a.m. to noon Monday through Friday on Comcast SportsNet. A one-hour \u201cBest of Kap & Haugh\u201d highlights show also will air at 11 p.m. weeknights.<\/p>\n

\"David and I are really excited to be adding such a visible vehicle to The Game 87.7 to bring our show to the sports fans of Chicago,\u201d Kaplan said in a statement Tuesday. \u201cComcast SportsNet is the first place that fans tune into to watch the best in Chicago sports and we are honored to have our radio show as part of the CSN lineup.\"<\/p>\n

Kaplan already is familiar to Comcast SportsNet viewers as host of \"SportsTalk Live\u201d at 5:30 p.m. weekdays as well as \u201cCubs Pre\/Postgame Live.\u201d The addition of his radio show\u2019s simulcast will raise Kaplan\u2019s visibility on the regional sports network to five hours a day.<\/p>\n

Haugh, a prominent Chicago Tribune sportswriter and \u201cIn the Wake of the News\u201d columnist, has been teamed with Kaplan on The Game 87.7 FM since its launch<\/a> last February.<\/p>\n

\"Game<\/a>In announcing the deal, Jimmy deCastro, president and general manager of The Game 87.7 FM and news\/talk WGN AM 720, said: \u201cIt\u2019s been our focus to deliver sports talk like no one else. Combining the \u2018Kap & Haugh\u2019 radio broadcast with the TV powerhouse Comcast SportsNet is another piece that fits in our puzzle to bring a complete media experience to the Chicago sports fan.\u201d<\/p>\n

Phil Bedella, vice president and general manager of Comcast SportsNet, said: \u201cWe are excited to deliver two of our city\u2019s most dynamic sports media personalities to our viewers every weekday morning. Kap and Haugh have a deep passion for not only the teams in Chicago, but for our city\u2019s fans as well. Their daily debates and thought-provoking insight will most definitely provide our viewers with an entertaining start to their sports viewing and listening day.\u201d<\/p>\n

Comcast SportsNet currently airs infomercials and reruns of sports events between 9 a.m and noon weekdays.<\/p>\n

Ratings for The Game 87.7 FM have been unimpressive so far. In the latest Nielsen Audio survey, the station tied for 34th with a 0.6 share and cumulative weekly audience of 386,300.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
