Praising their \u201cwonderfully acerbic, odd-couple theater-reviewing shtick,\u201d the Reader\u2019s Deanna Isaacs <a href=\"http:\/\/www.chicagoreader.com\/Bleader\/archives\/2013\/08\/09\/hey-bez-jonathan-abarbanel-is-the-new-american-theatre-critics-association-head\" target=\"_blank\">called<\/a> their segments \u201cfast-moving, smart, homegrown, packed with useful information, and totally appropriate for this great theater town. And they were always fun: Kleiman and Abarbanel know everything, including how not to take themselves too seriously.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In the interim, they\u2019ve stayed together online through their lively blog and weekly podcasts at <a href=\"http:\/\/duelingcritics.net\" target=\"_blank\">duelingcritics.net.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re excited at the prospect of working with program host Gary Zidek and station manager Dan Bindert (themselves WBEZ alumni), and look forward to crackling on the airwaves once more,\u201d Kleiman and Abarbanel <a href=\"http:\/\/duelingcritics.net\/2014\/04\/the-dueling-critics-are-returning-to-the-radio\/\" target=\"_blank\">wrote <\/a>on their blog.<\/p>\n<p>For now, they\u2019ll alternate weeks on the show with\u00a0Ian Simmons, who\u2019ll review movies. Both segments are expected to air weekly once \u201cThe Arts Section\u201d expands to a full hour.<\/p>\n<p>Kleiman, a freelance writer on the arts, feminism, travel and social justice, also is editor and publisher of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.chicagonow.com\/the-nonprofiteer\" target=\"_blank\">The Nonprofiteer,<\/a>\u00a0a ChicagoNow blog about charity, philanthropy and nonprofit management.\u00a0Abarbanel, who teaches theatre at the University of Illinois at Chicago, is chair of the American Theatre Critics Association.
