<\/a> Marshall Harris<\/p><\/div>\n

Nearly two years after WBBM-Channel 2<\/a> reassigned Ryan Baker to morning news anchor, the CBS-owned station finally got around to hiring his replacement as main sports anchor and sports director.<\/p>\n

Marshall Harris, just in from CBS-owned KOVR in Sacramento, California, officially joined CBS 2 Monday. He's expected to start on the 5, 6 and 10 p.m. weekday newscasts sometime this week.<\/p>\n

\u201cI can\u2019t wait to take on this new endeavor in the Windy City!\u201d Harris wrote on social media. \u201cI appreciate all of the support that\u2019s gotten me this far.\u201d<\/p>\n

A native of Huntsville, Alabama, and graduate of Mississippi State University, Harris joined KOVR in 2019 after 10 years in Philadelphia, where he anchored and hosted for NBC Sports Philadelphia and NBC-owned WCAU. Earlier he worked for Fox SportsNet Pittsburgh and Big Ten Network.<\/p>\n

Matt Zahn continues as freelance sports reporter and fill-in sports anchor at CBS 2.<\/p>\n

Baker, a south suburban native and University of Illinois graduate, joined CBS 2 as sports anchor in 2008 after five years at NBC-owned WMAQ-Channel 5. He shifted<\/a> to weekday morning news anchor in September 2019.<\/p>\n
