Cohen<\/strong> and<strong> Lakeidra Chavis<\/strong> of ProPublica Illinois will receive the Watchdog Award for \"The Quiet Rooms,\" their joint investigation exposing harmful overuse and misuse of seclusion and physical restraints in public schools across Illinois. \"The research that went into the reporting was unparalleled \u2013 hundreds of interviews along with 300 public records requests that fed into a database of 35,000 incidents \u2013 and the story made both immediate and long-term impacts in public schools,\" the judges said. \"This was outstanding work on behalf of many vulnerable kids and their families.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>As <a href=\"https:\/\/www.robertfeder.com\/2020\/05\/06\/derogatis-waldron-win-headline-clubs-lifetime-achievement-awards\/\">previously reported<\/a> Lifetime Achievement Awards will be presented to <strong>Jim DeRogatis,<\/strong> the longtime Chicago music critic, crusading reporter, author and broadcaster, and <strong>Clarence Waldron,<\/strong> former senior writer and senior editor of Jet Magazine. Both will be invited to deliver more public acceptances at the organization\u2019s 100th anniversary celebration in 2021.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Susan S. Stevens<\/strong> and <strong>Howard S.
