The startup was\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.120sports.com\/press-release.jsp\" target=\"_blank\">announced<\/a> last week.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s a joint venture of Time Inc. (publisher of Sports Illustrated) and Jerry Reinsdorf\u2019s sports media company Silver Chalice Ventures as well as the NHL, NBA, <a href=\"http:\/\/mlb.mlb.com\/home\" target=\"_blank\">MLB.com,<\/a> NASCAR and leading collegiate conferences. 120 Sports derives its name from the concept of offering original sports programming in two-minute segments.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c120 Sports is an innovative, addictive product that will give sports fans an amazing amount of always-on sports content and great technology so they can engage with news and highlights wherever they are,\u201d said Todd Larsen, Time Inc. executive vice president.<\/p>\n<p>I had a hunch Ross was headed for 120 Sports when I first <a href=\"http:\/\/www.robertfeder.com\/2013\/11\/15\/on-the-lookout-for-dave-ross\/\" target=\"_blank\">wrote about him<\/a> last November. Now it\u2019s about to be made official \u2014 along with the rest of the network\u2019s new talent lineup.<\/p>\n<p>Born in New York and raised in Virginia Beach, Virginia, Ross joined Fox-owned WTTG-TV in Washington in 1995 after working as a sports columnist and reporter in North Carolina. He also appeared on WTEM AM, the ESPN sports\/talk station in Washington.<\/p>\n<p>According to his bio, Ross served six years in the U.S. Marine Corps, participating in Operation Desert Storm and earning the rank of sergeant.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Dave Ross Mystery has been solved at last.
