The people have spoken: Just one day after the Sun-Times<\/a> announced its was dropping<\/a> most of its comics, puzzles and daily TV grid to save newsprint and production costs, the paper has brought back its crossword puzzle. \u201cBased on feedback from readers, \u2018Today\u2019s Crossword\u2019 is being restored to daily print editions,\u201d the paper said in an unsigned editor\u2019s note Friday. \u201cWe appreciate your feedback and thank you for reading the Sun-Times.\u201d No word on whether Ziggy<\/em> or the paper\u2019s other banished comics have a prayer.<\/p>\n

Kathy Hart<\/p><\/div>\n

It looks like we'll be hearing more from Kathy Hart<\/strong>\u00a0on WGN 720-AM.<\/a> Following up her three-day fill-in gig<\/a> alongside Frank Fontana,<\/strong> the former Chicago radio morning star was back on the Tribune Broadcasting news\/talk station Sunday. Featured on Sunday's show was an in-studio Botox party with Hart, Wendy Snyder, Judy Pielach<\/strong> and Mary Van De Velde.<\/strong> (Unusual <\/em>radio, to say the least.) Todd Manley,<\/strong> station manager and vice president of content at WGN, said Hart would be filling in \"multiple times\" over the next two months.<\/p>\n

Mark Brown<\/p><\/div>\n

Sun-Times columnist Mark Brown<\/strong> was named winner of the 2018 Dorothy Storck Award from the Chicago Journalists Association <\/a>Saturday. The $1,000 prize was presented for Brown\u2019s series on homelessness. \u201cThis is someone who can go from hard-hitting investigations to columns that tug at your heart,\u201d Maudlyne Ihejirika,<\/strong> the association\u2019s president, said of Brown. \u201cHe writes about homelessness in a way that makes you care.\u201d Ihejirika also announced the group would be launching its own news show and mentorship program for students.<\/p>\n

Andy Shaw<\/p><\/div>\n

Andy Shaw,<\/strong> longtime Chicago political reporter and former president and CEO of the Better Government Association,<\/a> will turn up as election night analyst on Entercom all-news WBBM 780-AM and WCFS 105.9-FM,<\/a> starting at 7 p.m. Tuesday. He\u2019ll join WBBM Newsradio anchor Kris Kridel<\/strong> and Cisco Cotto<\/strong> and political editor Craig Dellimore.<\/strong>\u00a0Coming up: Shaw will be honored by colleagues as outgoing BGA chief November 29 at the Union League Club.<\/p>\n
