Things will <em>really<\/em> heat up when WGN moves forward on its ambitious plans for FM expansion.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Perennial ratings leader WLS-Channel 7 will revamp its daytime lineup once Katie Couric\u2019s syndicated talk show goes away. Also look for the ABC-owned station to rejuvenate its lagging morning news with a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.robertfeder.com\/2013\/11\/17\/rare-break-for-abc-7-newcomer\/\" target=\"_blank\">new face<\/a> or two.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Longstanding vacancies will be filled when Chicago Public Media names a new <a href=\"http:\/\/www.robertfeder.com\/2013\/07\/26\/wbez-bombshell-torey-malatia-resigns\/\" target=\"_blank\">president and CEO<\/a> at WBEZ FM 91.5 and Vocalo, and Tribune Broadcasting names a new <a href=\"http:\/\/www.robertfeder.com\/2013\/09\/25\/help-wanted-new-boss-for-wgn-tv\/\" target=\"_blank\">vice president and general manager<\/a> at WGN-Channel 9 and CLTV.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>The autobiography of Roger Ebert will come to the silver screen when <a href=\"http:\/\/kartemquin.com\/films\/life-itself\" target=\"_blank\">\u201cLife Itself\u201d<\/a>\u00a0premieres Jan. 19 at the Sundance Film Festival.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Bruce DuMont, founder, president and CEO of the Museum of Broadcast Communications, will <a href=\"http:\/\/www.robertfeder.com\/2013\/10\/06\/dumont-to-step-back-from-museum-operations\/\" target=\"_blank\">relinquish control<\/a>\u00a0over day-to-day \u00a0operations after 30 years with the hiring of a new executive director.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Filmmakers Steve James and Gordon Quinn, reporter Steve Bogira and editor Alejandro Escalona will receive<a href=\"http:\/\/www.robertfeder.com\/2013\/10\/31\/terkel-winners-celebrate-our-common-bonds\/\" target=\"_blank\"> Studs Terkel Awards<\/a> from the Community Media Workshop in March.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Six local television veterans \u2014 Jerry Bryant, Carole B.
