But not anymore.<\/p>\n<p>Starting November 14, a syndicated morning show from Seattle hosted by the team of Brooke Fox and Jubal Flagg \u2014 billed as \u201cBrooke &amp; Jubal\u201d \u2014 will air from 6 to 9 a.m. Monday through Friday on adult contemporary <a href=\"http:\/\/wshechicago.com\">WSHE FM 100.3,<\/a> one of Hubbard\u2019s three stations here in the third largest market.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Hubbard launched Brooke &amp; Jubal at its Top 40 station in Seattle in 2011 and expanded the show to Portland in 2015. Earlier this year the company signed a syndication distribution deal with Premiere Radio Networks.<\/p>\n<p>Here, according to the station\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/WSHEChicago\/?fref=ts&amp;ref=br_tf\">Facebook page,<\/a> are examples of the \u201chilarious entertainment\u201c listeners will hear:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>What you doin\u2019 at the courthouse?<\/li>\n<li>2nd date update<\/li>\n<li>Phone taps<\/li>\n<li>Shock collar trivia<\/li>\n<li>Loser line<\/li>\n<li>Missed connections<\/li>\n<li>Laser stories<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Cat Thomas, program director of WSHE, called the duo \u201centertaining, funny, smart, and addicting.\u201d At the same time, he acknowledged they'll be up against Eric Ferguson and Kathy Hart, the top-rated, <em>local<\/em> morning team on Hubbard\u2019s hot adult-contemporary <a href=\"http:\/\/wtmx.com\">WTMX FM 101.9.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Why trade local for syndicated? \u201cI think Hubbard has owned stations in Chicago for around five years, so the thing that\u2019s most significant is that we believe we\u2019ve identified talent that can be very successful in Chicago,\u201d Thomas told me.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn our opinion, it\u2019s the hottest show in radio now. We feel that in Eric and Kathy we have the greatest local show in the history of Chicago radio, now we are bringing the hottest national morning show to Chicago. Brooke and Jubal are fun and entertaining, and fit the Hubbard Radio belief that each radio station should have engaging talent and content.\u201d<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_12606\" style=\"width: 150px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.robertfeder.com\/2016\/10\/31\/hubbard-air-seattle-morning-show-wshe\/brian-peck-6\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-12606\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-12606\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-12606\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/Brian-Peck.jpg\" alt=\"Brian Peck\" width=\"140\" height=\"260\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-12606\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Brian Peck<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Odd man out is Brian Peck, a nearly 25-year veteran of Chicago radio who has hosted mornings on WSHE and its predecessor since 2008. His job loss caps a difficult and challenging year for Peck, who underwent spinal fusion decompression surgery last November followed by serious complications and months of painful recovery.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYes, I\u2019m disappointed, but I\u2019m looking forward to something new,\u201d he said of his release from Hubbard. \u201cI respect their decision and I have no hard feelings. I\u2019m not going to be angry about it. Who\u2019s got time for that?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Peck said he expects to stay on until November 11, although Thomas said he could not comment on when Peck\u2019s last on-air day would be.<\/p>\n<p>Morning news anchor Susan Wiencek is expected to shift to full-time public affairs duties. Jay Styles, former music director and afternoon host at KAMX in Austin, Texas, has been hired as board operator for Brooke &amp; Jubal in Chicago.<\/p>\n<p>In the latest Nielsen Audio survey, mornings on WSHE tied for 24th place with a 1.8 percent share and cumulative weekly audience of 420,500.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.robertfeder.com\/2016\/10\/31\/hubbard-air-seattle-morning-show-wshe\/sherman-tingle\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-12605\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-12605\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/Sherman-TIngle-300x173.jpg\" alt=\"sherman-tingle\" width=\"300\" height=\"173\" srcset=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/Sherman-TIngle-300x173.jpg 300w, \/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/Sherman-TIngle-500x288.jpg 500w, \/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/Sherman-TIngle-150x86.jpg 150w, \/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/Sherman-TIngle-400x231.jpg 400w, \/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/Sherman-TIngle-200x115.jpg 200w, \/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/Sherman-TIngle.jpg 588w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>The shakeup on WSHE closely follows another <a href=\"http:\/\/www.robertfeder.com\/2016\/10\/06\/robservations-wait-till-sherman-tingle-meet-eric-kathy\/\">morning show makeover <\/a>at Hubbard\u2019s classic rock <a href=\"http:\/\/wdrv.com\">WDRV FM 97.1.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Brian Sherman and Steve Tingle debuted Monday on The Drive, where their show airs from 5:30 to 9 a.m. weekdays. The duo, formerly heard on alternative rock <a href=\"http:\/\/www.101wkqx.com\">WKQX FM 101.1<\/a> under Emmis Communications ownership, are being reunited after five years apart.<\/p>\n<p>Sherman &amp; Tingle succeed Pete McMurray and Dan McNeil.
