Shia Kapos, one of Chicago\u2019s premier journalists on the celebrity beat, is out after 10 years as senior reporter and columnist for Crain\u2019s Chicago Business.<\/a><\/p>\n

Michael Arndt, editor of Crain\u2019s Chicago Business, confirmed that Friday was her last day.<\/p>\n

\u201cShia is one of the best known chroniclers of high-profile people at the intersection of business, government and philanthropy in Chicago,\u201d Arndt said. \u201cI want to thank her for her years of \u2018taking names\u2019 for us.\u201d<\/p>\n

The move comes two weeks after Ann Dwyer was named<\/a> managing editor of Crain's.<\/p>\n

It appears that Kapos won\u2019t be idle for long.\u00a0\u201cI spent a decade at Crain\u2019s, and I enjoyed working with great, great editors,\u201d she said Friday. \u201cI\u2019m looking forward to my next chapter, which I hope to announce very soon.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kapos joined Crain's in 2006 as a lifestyle reporter and began her \u201cTaking Names\u201d column the following year. She previously was Midwest correspondent for People magazine,<\/a> staff reporter for the Chicago Tribune <\/a>and a contributor to the New York Times.<\/a> In 2014 she was named among the most powerful women <\/a>in Chicago journalism.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
