The husband-and-wife team of Bob Sirott and Marianne Murciano will host Illinois primary election night coverage March 15 on WLS AM 890, the Cumulus Media news/talk station.

Starting at 6 p.m. and airing until at least 10 p.m., Sirott and Murciano will host a roundtable of newsmakers, analysts and journalists, including veteran City Hall reporter Bill Cameron.

Coverage will feature updates from WLS and CNN on local and statewide races as well as Florida and Ohio primaries, according to program director Peter Bolger. “It will include all the polling, the vote counts, and live comments from the winners and losers, but it’s really about people in Chicago reacting and telling the story of what’s happening and what it means,” he said.

For Sirott, the special will mark a return to the station where he first rose to stardom in 1973 as a 23-year-old disc jockey on the Big 89. He segued to television in 1980. “Great to be back on WLS after the fantastic 36-year vacation they gave me,” Sirott said.

It also will mark a return to radio for Sirott and Murciano, who most recently co-hosted middays at Tribune Media news/talk WGN AM 720. Their new venture is Suso’s Fork, a food website and blog named after the pet capuchin monkey Murciano kept as a child in Cuba.
