\u201cAny further layoffs in the editorial department on the part of Sun-Times Media will be at its own peril,\" executive director Craig Rosenbaum said in a statement posted <\/a>on the Guild website. \"Moreover, from a practical standpoint, I really cannot see how the Sun-Times can put out a viable product with any further layoffs in its editorial department.\u201d<\/p>\n
The statement came in the wake of a report here <\/a>Friday that the company was gearing up for another round of layoffs early next year. No specific goals have been set, but multiple sources confirmed that staff reductions would be necessary to offset revenue shortfalls.
